Notice is hereby given that the San Diego Unified School District, acting by and through its governing board, will
electronically receive bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and services for:
CALSHAPE GRANT HVAC ASSESSMENT AND REPAIRS AT 20 SITES (Group 2)
A mandatory site visit is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on FRIDAY, MAY 12, 2023, outside the main office of Ross Elementary
School, 7470 Bagdad St, San Diego, CA 92111. Upon completion, contractors will proceed to Chollas-Mead Elementary
School, 4525 Market St. San Diego, CA 92102. Contractors and subcontractors must preregister with the District
prior to attending the site walk at sandiegounified.org/sitewalks. GENERAL CONTRACTORS ARE HIGHLY
ENCOURAGED TO INVITE SUBCONTRACTORS TO ATTEND SITE VISITS.
All bids must be received electronically at or before 1:00 p.m. on MAY 25, 2023. Firms interested in submitting a bid
package must go to tinyurl.com/SDUSD-PlanetBids, then search under “Bid Opportunities” for “Invitation number” CP23-1001-39-00-00
Calshape Grant HVAC Assessment and Repairs at 20 Sites (Group 2). For new vendors, please register
under “New Vendor Registration.”
The project estimate is between $1.9 million and $2.6 million. This is not a PSA project. However, prequalification is
required. does not require prequalification. The District requires that Bidders possess any of the following classification(s)
of California State Contractors License(s), valid and in good standing, at the time of bid opening and contract award: C-20
or other appropriate license, subject to District approval.
CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Each bid shall be in accordance with all terms, conditions, plans, specifications and any other
documents that comprise the bid package. The Bid and Contract Documents may be downloaded free of charge at the
District’s new online Planroom at sandiegousdplans.com (click on Public Jobs to view all current bids). Contractors
may purchase printed documents at Crisp Imaging for a refundable payment of Two Hundred Dollars ($200) per set or
CD/USB drives for a non-refundable payment ($2 - $10). Payments shall be made by check payable to San Diego Unified
School District. If allowed, refunds will be processed by the District only if the Bid and Contract Documents, including
addenda, are returned intact and in good order to Crisp Imaging within ten (10) days of the issuance of the Final Bid
Tabulation. All bids shall be submitted on bid forms furnished by the District. The bid package will be available beginning
May 2, 2023. Bid packages will only be accepted via PlanetBids. Crisp Imaging is located at 8375 Camino Santa Fe, Unit

PREQUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS: Pursuant to Public Contract Code (PCC) §20111.6, each contractor wishing to bid as
a prime to the District for projects estimated at $1,000,000 or over, or any subcontractor performing the license
classifications of A, B [if performing the work of] C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and/or C-46
wishing to submit a bid to a bidding prime contractor must be prequalified in order to bid. Contractors must be a registered
SDUSD PlanetBids vendor to complete the prequalification process. Go to tinyurl.com/SDUSD-PlanetBids and login
as a vendor, then click the menu on the left, and select prequalification to get started. Completed applications must be
submitted to the District no later than (May 11, 2023), which is 10 business days before the bid opening due date.
Any applications submitted later than this deadline will not be processed for this bid. The District encourages all general
contractors bidding as a prime contractor and all MEP subcontractors to submit an online application as soon as possible.
